I have a Lite-on and the iXtreme 1.61 for Lite-on has not been released.  Do I need it to run retail pressed Wave 4 games?

If they need more time to make sure this is stable and fairly safe for live, they can have all the time in the world.

OK I seem to have an issue with the 1.61 firmware. I have 8 xbox 360. I have one with an ms 25 a few with the ms28 both samsung and then I have a few with the benq. The flash seems to work fine with the ms 25 and 28 where I could put the activate.iso in and then my wave 4 game and it runs perfect. The activate.iso however does not seem to work with the benq drives when I try it and it doesnt even recognize the game and gives me open disc. It seems to run fine with the samsung but not the benq. I am thinking my rip of the game is not good because it does not work at all without the activate.iso disc even for the samsung. But shouldnt the activate.iso let me do one boot for the benq and allow me to play the rip even if its got issues. someone Please explain this to me.

if i understand correctly it is probably gonna be months for the new fw. The wanna bring out the firmware that flashes all Lite-ons including the new ones, and that just seems to be the hardest one to extract the key...

of course, just "heard something"

Did you burn the disc to one layer of a dual-layer disc?  If using ImgBurn, click "Yes" just before burning to carry on burning to just the first layer.  This is how I did it, and it worked on my BenQ.

Interesting though, if a dual-layer-burned activate.iso works on Samsungs then I haven't wasted 25 Verbs after all!  The first bunch I burned didn't work when Tekken 6 came out and I finally got a chance to try them!

so is 1.61 having bugs out of the question as for bans? I just got a Benq(should be its white wires) from MS repair. not sure i should flash....

recent bans are for playing prerelease early mainly.

Only Microsoft know what Microsoft know.  As mentioned above though, bans are likely to come from playing before release, playing pre-release versions and (in my opinion) possibly playing "poisoned" releases deliberately spread by the game developers.  After all, people who backup to avoid scratches are unlikely to be the main target, as they've bought the games anyway.  Pirates are the target.

well the will probaly bring out the 1.61 for lite-on 7 & 8, i dont think the would wait till the get all lite-ons.

You know I was wondering if the reason the liteon fw wasnt out yet was because they are waiting till they finish it for the recent lite on that has no fw.

My original Hitachi drive died so i now have a Samsung drive spoofed as my original drive with 1.6..

What firmware should i flash with? Samsung or Hitachi? I don't wanna use the boot disc everytime..

Im a little confused lol

You would use Samsung firmware with the Hitachi's info spoofed into it.
