Anyone know why Black "Pal" saves dont work?

When ftping them to my save folder they always say damaged.

Can't get this to work. The game tries to load it but then launches the unskippable opening credits and movie. When I try to load it from the game, it says "Damaged". Is it possible the game needs a default xbe patch, ala Burnout 3?

If anybody else wishes to elaborate on it, they can, but just think of one thing, XBL, and it doesn't make a damn if you have it or not.
