So we have a new Samsung/Benq IX 1.6.1 with no documentation from who made it or where it came from and it does not even show up on xbins?

Something tells me this did not come from c4eva.

I don't have any sammy or benq console laying around to test but I would feel much better if there was some confirmation as to who made this.
Not to start the tin foil hat treatment but...

I wondered the same thing before I loaded the files into Jungle Flasher.
Usually a .txt file of some sort explaining what it's for and blah, blah, blah...

Time will tell.

Ok, I didn't believe it was real... went to xbins and it's not there, so went to a couple other places I know of and downloaded it.

Anyway, I just flashed 2 BenQ's and loaded up a backup of Lips.

Worked without a problem.   ph34r.gif

Jungleflasher reads it as 1.61 and everything worked as usual.

Still don't understand why it's not on xbins first.... been going there 6 years for all my needs and this is the 1st time xbins doesn't have it first.

Oh well everything works great.

Well I went to #fw but the mods/admins there sure are immature as anything.

I got banned for helping people and using @ in front of other people's names because the chat has been flooded like crazy thanks to the firmware coming out.  He proceeded to call me a fag, so I just thought nothing of it and called him one back... then he banned me.

Lol... I hate power hungry idiots who think they're important people when they really mean nothing just because they have some control over a stupid chat room...

Anyway, flashed mine with 1.61 and it works great.  Just curious if anyone knows if this is a steal check bypass for wave 4 or is it strict wave 4 compliance?

yeah i got in trouble from one of the mods on black cats for telling people it might be an idea to wait for information about the firmware before installing it. Childish i think was the term used.

no good deed goes unpunished.

Go figure...

I honestly hate IRC to be honest.  Its filled with childish and immature teens and young adults who should act a little more grown up than they do.  I usually stick to forums, there's quite a bit more mature folks compared to IRC.

All I was doing was saying @username _answer to question here_

I don't see what the big deal was and why he had to call me a "fag" because of it.  I was helping people with their problems... something I enjoy doing.  He wasn't doing much of anything besides sitting there calling people names and banning users.

Whatever,  I got my 1.61 and installed it so I'm happy.  It works now without boot discs.
