Just maybe as there is a way to boot at the moment (activate disk) He is going to investigate the new FW and do a release for the lot in one go.

As for him retiring, maybe, but I think he just loves the game of cat and mouse with M$, so i suspect he does it for that more than anything else. Nobody knows, stop saying shite, as then other site that take xbs as gospel (for some reason) start mentioning that on news sites, then it spreads like wildfire and then basically self feeds the rumours, which is no doubt what is already happening.

The version number 1.61 suggests a quick fix to remove partition checking to allow the playing of Wave 4 games only, as 1.51 was a quick fix for Wave 3 games. But with good backups there should be no need to add the checks back in in a future version.
Anyway, regardless of whether that statement is true or not, if a quick fix is all that's needed then hopefully we'll see it soon.

Nah I reckon they'll add an exception personally. Anyways hope they do relax the boot requirements...that way loads of wankers will get banned. I hate people who don't make proper backups and love the thought of them getting banned...ahhhhh glee.
