There is no need for all the security checks. If people cannot backup and check their games properly then that is down to them.

lol so they might as well just release 1.51 and call it 1.61 wink.gif

Nah I reckon they'll add an exception personally. Anyways hope they do relax the boot requirements...that way loads of wankers will get banned. I hate people who don't make proper backups and love the thought of them getting banned...ahhhhh glee.

Nice attitude. Wanker.

I can't say i totally disagree with you. People should be making proper backups (of games they legally own)
Anyone playing games early and getting banned did get what they deserved.

But as someone that offers modification services, it is very bad negitive publicity to hear hundreds of people saying they got thier firmware modded and now they are banned.

I don't post very often but this thread has really done my head in.

When all the shit kicked off with Iriez and other (C4E) very well respected people in the scene I was gutted. I admire those guys so much. The work that they have all done is incredible. But the lack of respect people on this forum showed to them was terrible! Calling them this and that cos of the key extraction thing for the newer liteon's. I hope that a lot of people reading this thread feel guilty to what they have contributed to, if C4E has left the scene.

Everyone wants a new firmware, but too many people think that they deserve it for whatever reason. Thats just crazy! The work that has gone into previous firmwares and hacking tools has just not been appreciated enough. I for one feel very sad at the state of things at the moment, but I cant help feeling like this is what the majority deserve!

from http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/ix...onight-809613/

3iXtreme 1.61 will be available via xbins and shortly after on other sources on Tuesday the 27th of this month.

translated it's this....

"As many expected, C4Eva has confirmed that iXtreme 1.61 for the samsung, benq and-would soon be available. We do not have precise information on the date of release, but we can expect to have the firmware here next week. Remains more to be seen if this Ixtreme will be also focused on the readers Hitachi. "

Now anyone who flashes Xbox's already knows supporting Samsung is well, useless most current and modern drives are BenQ and LiteOn and I'm sorry but c4eva worries about those first, he did it with 1.6. Hitachi was never supported in 1.6.....

Also the "real" rumor which was talked about in the chat was that 1.61 just simply removes checking the video sector or wave all together, basically what a stock drive does.

note from poster: a very big Wahahaha  (IMG:http://www.seat-online.nl/forum/Smileys/seat-online/rofl.gif)(IMG:http://www.seat-online.nl/forum/Smileys/seat-online/rofl.gif)
will be available on Tuesday the 27th of this month. (IMG:http://www.seat-online.nl/forum/Smileys/seat-online/sign0103.gif) (IMG:http://www.seat-online.nl/forum/Smileys/seat-online/sign0103.gif) (IMG:http://www.seat-online.nl/forum/Smileys/seat-online/sign0103.gif)

I agree with this 100%.  I lurk on here much more then I post and feel that way too many people think they deserve new firmware like its a right.  Everyone that produces anything for the x360 scene including C4E do it for free and on their own free time.  Im pretty sure they have their own personal lives to consider first before anything else.

Too many people flame on this board constantly.  Perfect example being, I dont recall his nick, but the first person to discover a Benq drive but did not have photo proof.  He was flamed beyond belief on here, but then I found the same VA6039 drive and submitted pictures to this website which was posted on the news page.  Quite a few apologies in that thread.

Everyone needs to get their panties out of a bunch and relax.  Your lucky that there are so many dedicated individuals working hard to keep their work current and its all free to us.

I think you're overstating the case.

Currently, the firmware won't boot a bad backup.  At this point, the user either learns to use the tools to rip and verify correctly, or they use activate.iso and become a ban waiting to happen.

All you're changing by taking stealth check out of the firmware is process.  Instead of expecting the 360 to inform you of a bad backup after the fact when it won't boot, let ABGX handle that before you burn instead.  Anybody who thinks that's too confusing just shouldn't be swimming in these waters.

The only people I can see really being affected are people who purchase backups from their local dealer, since they have no clue about such things.  Frankly, I don't feel much for people buying backups, and I certainly have no sympathy for anyone selling them.

It comes down to the same old issue: do you give a man a fish, or do you teach him to fish for himself?  People who would be banned if the firmware didn't protect them simply need to learn a better way.

at the minute im on 1.51, my pre order of tekken 6 arrived this mourning (god bless the postal strikes lol companys send out earlier) it wont play. i subscribe to the feeling that if i sudenly start putting in an dvd in for 5 seconds before i play a wave 4 game, eventualy microsoft will use that to see moded consoles, no one acidently puts a dvd in everytime before a wave 4 game for 5 seconds lol. so yes im chomping at the bits for 1.61 but i dont think im entitled to nor do i expect c4eva to rush it out straight away. i also believe that too many people demand stuff from c4eva and as for the people that charge for modding consoles while using c4evas firmware, well you should donate part of you money (hell even if its 50p a drive to c4eva) would that really hurt your bottom lines?

i have also seen here 100s of rumours but no real facts which simply could be cos there aint none. we all have to exersise patients (yeah i know its hard, i am certainly not the most patient of people) and wait, either 1.61 will be out or some alternative eventualy till then we can either play wave 3 games or buy a second 360 for wave 4 games (or risk the activation disc)

But your firmware should play any original regardless of which wave it is, so I'm a little bit confused as to why your original disc won't load.

Not true.  That's how it ought to be, but that's not how it works.

That should be how iot works for originals though isn't it? I thought that the checks only applied to backups. He's saying that he has a store bought original Tekken 6 disc.
