UPDATE

Ok, so since my last posts I have:

Re-burnt the Activate disk, according to the settings in an earlier post (so I am now 100% convinced that I've burnt that bit rightly).

White screen appears with multi languages ("Insert this disk into a Xbox 360 blah blah blah")

Eject activate disk
Insert W4 backup
Disk spins for a bit
and on the dashboard is says "PLAY DVD" not "PLAY GAME".

Have now tried 3 different W4 titles and cannot believe for one moment that all 3 have been bad burns as in between these, I've burnt and played a W3 title, so....

- disks are fine (Verbatims)
- DVD writer is fine (Pioneer 112)
- 360 is fine (only 3 weeks old so thats cool)
- mental state is not fine! This is hacking me right off.  
- Only thing that's gone right today is the result at Anfield

Im trying to understand this now. I have 2 liteons with 1.51 and they boot borderlands just fine. now to my understanding, since cars race-o-rama they are all wave 4.

but in the post it states that 1.51 will not boot wave 4 discs.

please help me out here, im very confused.

also, if all newer games are not wave 4 and thats why i can boot borderlands, then is there a list somewhere that somebody has/is compiling that lists the wave 4 games?

Set auto-launch DVD to off in dashboard.

When you put in the activate.iso, the tray icon on dashboard should say "Play DVD". Take out the disk now, don't "launch" the activate.iso.

Then put in the wave 4 game.

Microsoft has the list.  They're comparing it to the list of gamers who just happen to "accidentally" insert a movie disc seconds before every time (and only when) they play this list of games that require it.

Have tried that too. Not doing anything after inserting the Activate disk. I eject that disk and insert a W4 backup. It launches the dashboard and then says play dvd not play game.

So I'm at a loss now as I've really tried everything possible.....

You know what would be helpful is if ABGX or somebody put together a little utility that would check your activate.iso disc.

Uh, why not just do a crc check. It's FCD53E19.

thats like saying thier checking every games crc for 1s that match which if done they soon find every 1 with a pirated copy  untill u show me proof of this stop spreding this shit

Dude, I was joking, but log the stealth CRCs do they not?  It's what I'd do if I were them.

borderlands is wave 3. cars race-o-rama, fairytale fights, lips: number one hits, bakugan battle brawlers, and tekken 6 are wave 4.

Did you flash the drive to 1.6 or was it done by someone else? Everything points to it being a 1.51 firmware.

I hate to say this, but you do not have v1.6 flashed in your system.  I had a system here that was 1.51 and was getting the same result, until I popped out the DVD Drive and read the firmware with JF and it was indeed 1.51 but a Samsung Drive.  I upgraded the firmware to 1.6, used the Activate.iso and then it worked just fine.  

If someone flashed it for you, you should let them know that it is not 1.6 and update it (or wait for 1.7[?]) to be released.  If you flashed it yourself, update it to 1.6, even if you think it is already 1.6, and do it again.

Iextreme 1.6 and activate disc:

Tekken 6 backup wants me to update EVEN THOUGH I have no harddisc or memory card inserted. I've read somewhere that it only asks you to update once (per reboot), but mine does it every time. I don't dare to accept - what does the update contain? Will it destroy the possibility for Free60? Can it update without storage media, for instance - directly to nand?

It is an xbox update just allow it to do so.
