Help Flashing Sammy Real Quick...
« on: October 15, 2009, 12:35:00 PM »

Hi.
Before going into detail, let me explain the drive model I have. It is a TS-H943A with F/W=ms25.

Now im not sure if this is note worthy, but next to part number theres a sticker changing the last 3 digits to 019?

Anyways, i power the drive using the CK3 lite, and i have a sata port going straight into my motherboard. Never had any problems before might i add. And I've done many, many dvd drives.

Since the drive says its a ms25, i assume the latest version of jungle flasher would just work doing the intro/device id. Apparently not. It fails. But Jungleflasher reads it as a ms28.
Which shouldn't be much of a problem either. So i send sammy unlock, and it works.
But when i read the key and save the bin. I get all 00000's. (bad key) No matter what method i use. I get a bad key. Whether I'm under windows xp or windows 7.... bad key.

And the latest version of iprep gives me a error when i try to load the latest firmware into it.

Honestly, I'm just trying to get this "simple" drive modded and be on my way. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank You,

Chris

You say youve done many drives before, so is this your first Samsung drive. The Samsung MS25 is by far the most easy drive to flash. The reason for this is the stock MS25 can be flashed with pretty much and sata chipset providing it is stock and not been flashed before, however if its not stock and has previously been flashed then its now become a MS28 and needs to be treated as one. You also say iprep gives you an error, what error does it give you and what version of iprep are you using?
