If there's such concern about users being unprotected, activate.iso leaves them unprotected anyway, so they'd better be doing things properly. If we're regularly going to be relying on that method, we'll be depending on ABGX360 to verify anyway. If users are trusted enough to use activate.iso responsibly, why not trust them to use a non-stealth firmware responsibly?
This is more of a political decision than a practical one. As a modder I'd like to see strict wave x compatability instead of letting users make the decision. Why? Simply because it'll mean more money for me. This time iXtreme 1.6 is still 'compatible' with the new Wave 4 games, only you need to use a disc and probably ABGX360 for all those games, but it still works, which it didn't before.
If people want that little extra luxury of not having to swap discs then by all means let them come in and upgrade their flashes on a semi-regular basis.
Additionally, the majority of users with a firmware that doesn't stealth check won't use ABGX360, which could lead to more bannings, which could lead to more trouble for people like me, having to explain to them that the Xbox I sold them is out of warranty even though you have a 1 year warranty, because you banned yourself.
Then again, I was scheming to bribe the iXtreme team into delaying the solution for flashing Lite-on simply because it was earning me -sooo- much money.
