Same here running Windows 7 and everytime i try to erase through JF it freezes.  Discovered the beauty of DosFlash and now just use JF to get key and dummy.bin then switch over to Dosflash, erase then back to JF and start from the beginning with just flashing.

Brutal legend is still wave 3 but the timestamp is 2009/08/21, just for those worried that this is for all games that came after. blah blah blah.

I haven't bought a wave 4 disc yet, but hopefully this wave 4 thing will bring an economy boost to all the modders out there.

Same here. Benq 1.5.1, tested two drives tonight. Both not working. Had to update back to 1.6. and use the one-shot bootmode disc, that worked of course.

As for Hitachi 1.5.1 working ? That I'd have to verify; a customer called in and could have sworn he has a Hitachi. Since he can play Wave3 games, it must be 1.5.1. Cars didn't play though.. just the xbox360 logo screen..

I've read through this whole thread, and I didn't see the answer to my question. I have two 1.51 Hitachi boxes, am I good? Can I play wave 4 games without worrying? Thanks.

yes you are.

newer firmware is on its way in time. this is the reason he created one shot boot mode, so you can play wave 4 etc. games without having to revert to 1.5.1 for anyone with newer drives. it was in the READ ME etc. if anyone bothered to read it.

I get that, but i was under the impression that the activate.iso was released like a year ago when wave 3 came out (or even before then)... because i needed it back then to mod a box.... and back then he was still working on the project...

or is there a new activate.iso relesed within the last couple days/weeks ?  if so.. why? i thought the original activate.iso will work too.

Will I be able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on my Benq VAD6038 ix 1.6 drive if I buy the game? (That is assuming MW2 is wave4, which it probably is. Wave4 was probably brought in to fuck everyone over for the biggest game of the years release).

No. Forza 3 is wave3..........I been playing it and did not upgraded it yet..

We begin the dance again with M$, sounds like no live for a while starting Nov 9th when the new update comes out but who knows for sure.

Those of us that have been doing this for a few years should not be suprised by this. I've been around since day one of the 360 no ban yet. (Am on box 4 due to RROD though) Was around for xbox one  and there was no live for us modders so if M$ does find a perm way to ban it was a good ride.  

These scares happen about once a year so no big deal.  Just wait till a new FW comes out and has wave 4 support before you start playing games that have it on the disk.  Other wise you should be fine.  Also i would say don't log into live and get the update till the new FW is released.  If what i read is correct we have a couple of weeks till this happens.

And I have to add this to add it because all of us who have been modding know all to well.  If you mod your xbox you risk being banned from live, it is against the TOS after all.  So please no threads about will i be banned because no one has a firm answer for you its all speculation.

I'm not an expert or anything, but have been doing this from day one.  Basically anytime a new update comes out people start talking about banning, I stop playing online till the new FW is released.  Then update to the new FW and dash.  I don't do the new dash update till I have the new FW installed.

Many people may say different but this is what has worked for me all these years.
