New Ixtreme Needed Already. Wave 4 Is Here :(
« Reply #135 on: October 16, 2009, 05:53:00 AM »

Cars O Rama tested on these drives:
Lite-On 74850, BenQ VAD6038, Samsung MS25 & Hitachi 47.

Using ixtreme v1.51, only the hitachi drive boots the game, not the others.
Using ixtreme v1.6 on the other drives, the game boots only when using the activate-disc.

So what is the likely hood of there being am Ixtreme version for the Liteon 83850 like 1.51 that doesn't check the video partition? And just to confirm 1.51 is available for the early version of the Liteon drives isn't it?

iXtreme 1.6.1/1.7 will probably be released in due time. As you could have read from previous posts iXtreme 1.5.1 does not work with Wave4 on benq/liteon/samsung for a lot of people.

The only iXtreme 1.5.1 which should work with Wave4 is Hitachi's.

People quoting the readme from iXtreme 1.5.1 or the "Wave4 for noobs"-text have not tested iXtreme 1.5.1 on Benq/Liteon/Samsung for themselves, in my opinion, since (apart from numerous people confirming it non-working) I personally have tested it with 2 Benqs and a Samsung and wave4 is a no go when 1.5.1 is flashed to it.

Upgraded to 1.6 and using oneshot then no problems at all.

That's the confirmation I was looking for. Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Now for the screamers to acknowledge this, so the misassumption regarding 'iXtreme 1.5.1 runs all waves on all drives' is dismissed..

Too bad no-one seemed to believe me earlier, then.

Damn, this could mean a lot of work for me, since I gave my customers a 1 year upgrade warranty.

I think I'll weasel myself out of it though, and just give them a free Verb DL disc instead of having to upgrade their flashes everytime Microsoft decides to buttrape me. tongue.gif

C4 is there any way we can get a nonstealth firmware. one that boots anything you put in it with out having to use a boot disk every time. there is alot of use out here that are eaither already banned or have no want or need or opportunity to connect the 360 to a highspeed internet. i know nothing about writing firmware but it would seem that for somebody who has wrote a firmware with all the stealth checks it should be easy to take those checks out or what about 1.6 with the activation disk flag permanently enabled.  as ive always said much thanks and respect to c4 and all the others that have gotten us this far.

Assuming your customers burn their games, just send them a link to the ISO for the boot disc.  It would be less time for them.

Good Point.  Would have been my suggestion.

Ya that's what I meant. I usually miss some crucial point like that, sorry. smile.gif I'll still be giving them a free disc though, I feel a Little guilty. *cough*  biggrin.gif

Hopefully they will start releaseing 2 versions of each drives firmware.

#1 for regular users: fully stealthed (need boot disc for future Wave # bypass) this would be for the lazy people who don't check their games.

#2 for advanced users: fully stealthed (except for Wave # check being removed) +boot disc for other stealth features while offline/old backup in use) NOTE: still safe to use online if backup is verified to be good.

This would be nice since MS says they will be adding a lot of new features in the future.
Instead of a new firmware every 3-6 months.

I know if you have a Hitachi you can use 1.5.1 but wasn't there still another stealth check added to 1.6 that 1.5.1 didn't have?  I always perfer the newest firmware but would like to not have to update if no new stealth checks are added.  As long as the backup has been verified we don't really need the firmware to double check it.

I do agree that some people need the firmware to block bad backups, but at the same time they should be checking their images/backups if they don't want to be banned.  Please just give the advanced users the option to disable this check within the firmware.

Thanks.

Seconded. I check all my ISOs with abgx360 and I am yet to burn a disc which failed to boot on a 1.6 console -  I really don't need the iXtreme checks.

Personally, I stuck to 1.51 so I could avoid being in this very situation. I also flashed three consoles for friends recently and now it turns out I will have to redo them, despite using 1.51

1.51 not being wave x proof was an unfortunate oversight, I know. It's nobody's fault, but I'm still a little peeved at the situation we are in. I very much hope the next iXtreme dumps stealth checks altogether, leaving it up to the user to check his/her ISOs before burning. Or maybe C4E could release two versions, one with stealth, one without?

I really don't need the stealth checks. Honestly. That's what p*sses me off the most about the situation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

This came from a Rip of WWE vs. Smackdown 2010:

QUOTE
Video partition found
Video CRC = 89ABB6B5 (V0 = F99C426F, V1 = 4809B37A)
Video partition does not match known data (could be corrupt or a new wave not seen before)

Are we to assume that this is the next game to come out with Wave 4?
