2 Wire Trick And 1k Resistors?
« on: October 13, 2009, 12:24:00 PM »

Sorry I started to post a little about this in my earliar post:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=693706

But anyways my question is what do the 1k resistors do when doing the 2 wire trick? Does it keep it from bricking your drive or does it just make the trick easier to pull off? Also where do the resistors go, i see plenty of sites on talking about using them but now how to use them. Thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated!

I haven't needed to use that method in over a year.
Read the jungleflasher tutorial.

I have, if you read my first post i made (click the link above) you'll see jungleflasher was nothing but a bitch for me. Also I am about to just buy a new xbox (i have a scheme in mind) but JF does set all drives into mode b right? I wasn't sure if it just set Hitachi drives into mode b or if it worked for them all (i haven't rtfm yet for other drives)

Mode B is ONLY for hitachi drives, I think you need to read a bit more.

lol p.s., your other thread is WAAAY too long for me to understand.

its a hitachi it like playing the lotto when flashing them brick wise but sticking two bits of wire and resitor in
something sure as hell aint gona stop it bricking if anything that would help.
jf sends mode b now ,but it still does not make your drive any less crap i got brand new one that a guy brought me to put in (after i said DONT buy hitachi) flashed it as jf states step by step and it wont read backups on any media even verbs originals even take 2 mins to load had to give the guy my spare benq and
throw that crap in corner
what i am trying to say above is buy a different drive get key off hitachi and spoof to another brand ..

Yeah that's the plan, I'm pretty sure the damn thing is bricked anyways. I just need to figure out someone to get the KEY off my TSOP chip...i almost want to try it myself but haha yeah right. I really just wanna find someone semi-local to pull off the TSOP chip (i'm located in Southern Indiana so if anyone know anyone PM me) but if not i'll have to send it off (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE HELP!!!!

you could try to solder in a "chillifix" chip.
has never worked for me, but its worth a try.
