I wanted to know if i can flash my replacment samsung ms28 that is coming in the same process that I have flashed my other samsung ms28.  I am taking out a hitachi dvd and putting in a samsung


I have flashed 2 xbox 360's with samsung ms28's dvd drives to ixtreme 1.6 using jungleflash through a via sata chip.
Now I have bought a xbox 360 with a hitachi dvd inside of it, I have already bought a samsung ms28 dvd drive to replace the hitachi and then i am gonna sell the hitachi.

When i get the samsung and replace the hitachi, is there any thing that i do differently?

Am i gonna need to add another device besides the via sata chip to get the key from the mother board or something like this ?

Can i have a successful flash just like the other 2 samsung, will the same method I used on other samsung ms28 work the same ?

Is it a problem or different process because its a replacement ?

just get the key out of the hitachi
then spoof a samsung firmware with that key and drive version.
then program samsung drive.

But why do you want that crappy samsung drive? Lite-Ons should be available all over the place and are much better.
You dont need additional hardware beside your SATA controller if you ONLY want to program a Lite on.

so i have to unlock the hitachi to do this ?

i know i have not read enough to probably even deserve an answer

but i wanted a answer to determine whether to try this or not

and so far i think i dont want to mess with it, if i cant just simply put the samsung replacment in the 360 and flash it

i posted questions on another web site asking if i can use any 360 dvd drive on any any 360
and i said that i only flash samsungs

but someone posted back, yea sure you can use any 360 dvd with any 360
so i just assumed they read the part about me only flashing samsungs

i think i am just gonna sell it on ebay

i wanted it because it has a extra hi def output

but i have been looking at guides on youtube

and there is not one good guide they are all old

do we still have to do all of this to flash a hitachi, burn slax to cd, burn open 79 to cd, using the command box and using a retail dvd ?

you could use jungleflasher + the 79 unlock audio-cd, thats all you need.

And really. read the tuts.

Explaining here how to read a 79 hitachi wont work.
