Idk what I did wrong but I think I fried my drive by putting the power cable in upside down (or something of the sort) and now it doesn't work. The computer never read it either. I've been told I need to replace the TSOP chips. I'm going to buy a replacement benq drive and something to power the drive and flash it.

So I need to know what is the best power adapter thing to use?
And how exactly would I do this?

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but swapping flash chips is one of those things where if you don't already know what to do, then there's no way that you're going to be able to do it yourself.  There are some people in this forum who will perform this service for a fee.

Top right, 8 legged spi chip, covered in epoxy.

Thats what you need to remove, heatgun is a must.

I bought a second hand Xbox 360 Elite. It has benq (VAD6038) dvd drive. I had made a bad mistake and I was reverse connect the dvd drive power cable too. The dvd drive don't work now.

Is there any way get the orginal dvd key from the dvd drive?

 Is there any way fix the dvd drive ?

If I buy a new benq dvd drive, is there a way that swap the SPI Flash chip from old benq to new benq ?

@OggyUK

Which is the SPI chip (which has the DVDkey) in the picture ?

Sorry for my bad English.

let me ask this,  Is the dashboard on these consoles updated to the summer update from this year?  if not then why not solder the JTAG LPT hookup and backup the nand,  then flash XELL to the board grab the CPU Key then flash the backup you made of the nand back to the 360 then open the nand in 360 Flash Tool and get your key.  then flash the key to the new drive you want to use.  I did one and for a beginer on soldering it would actually be safer then removing a tsop from the Benq and installing it without damaging.

it is the chip with the glue around it.  you will need to use a heatgun to remove the glue

All right..
Well I think I plugged the power in correctly this time and I did not get the RROD when the drive was in the xbox but.....I put the SATA cable in upside down on the xbox motherboard (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif) and now the "L" shape is IN THE SATA CABLE. I tried hooking the drive up to my computer and it did not read it (once again, but I just want to fix my damn xbox now and worry about flashing later).
So I thought I would have to swap the TSOP chips from this one and a new drive but if the SATA cable won't go on the Xbox motherboard, wtf do I do? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
