Do You Need To Extract A Key When Flashing A Liteon Drive

hi was wondering if i need to extract my key from my lite on drive if i just want to flash the lite on drive and not replace it with another drive

Yes you need the key. There are two main lite on versions right now

Lite-on v74xxxx - require serial interface to extract. Also need probe or a simple solder jump at r707

Lite-on v83xxxx - you should have a 360 dvd power adapter but is possible to read and flash using the 360 as power.

Before you can write anything to the drive you have to eras it. Once it is erased all is gone. If you do not have the drive key before you get the pint of erasing then you will need to buy a new console.
