I think my dvd drive was august 2009 and it dumped/flashed perfectly. Used usb modification disk 1.6.

Wouldn't work in jungleflasher though.

It might have been july 2009. Manufacturing date on the xbox was September 26th 2009.

i also got one manufactured in september elite black color 120 gb without hdmi suppied. I tried and tried and finally got good dump.

just opened the drive and ejected the half way manually and pulled its tray to full open manully.

it worked

did anyone else have success with this method. If this works and if it is the only difference then maybe they did this change so that you would have to break that warranty seal on the drive. Just a thought.

PANIC PANIC PANIC

I dumped a DG-16D28-S-09C (AOA2/83850C) June, 2009 with the JF 1.66.

I got the dummy twice, flashed it and now I'm unable to read anything. Xbox boots but doesn't recognize any DVDs.

Flashed back the original firmware and it gets even worse, not even the eject works.

I'm able to read, erase and write (apparently)...but there most be something wrong because it just isn't working. sad.gif

Is there a dummy check for the 83850C?

Many thanks!!!

New liteon 93450c found in Hong Kong. All these aug/sep drives that won't dump are probably mis-labelled 93450c drives.

Its iXtreme or nothing once youve erased.

Also, if these were mislabelled, they would still inquire as the "new" revision.

Im not saying its not the same f/w but its certainly not mislabelled.

Thanks for the post, I been doing that...I thought I try again now it imposible (upto now) to access the drive via dosflash. I can never do it in windows because my board is VIA...I flashed many drives with this chipset.
I'm now getting in dosflash 1.8 MTK Vendor intro failed....I toggle the switch and only get 0x51 when on and 0xD1 when off. I think I l-o-eras.exe it the last time, that let me write the firmware the last time.

Here“s a log for the 83850C that's driving me crazy:

So you're trying to flash the saved "Lite_CFW" file, yeah?

Sounds like you havent properly erased the liteon. Keep at it with lite-on-erase until you get FF72, then try to flash

Hi janaro78, You are having a different problem. This thread is for discussion of not being able to dump Lite On 83850C (v2?) drives manufactured in August 2009 or later.

Sounds like you got a invalid key for that drive.

No you didn't. There is no original firmware released for the Lite On drives

Basically, your xbox is just a DVD player now. That's the truth.

Lite-on-erase gave me FF72, I was then able to flash. Put it in to the Xbox and dvd doesn't automatically run. It says Play DVD, I press the A button and get the white screen "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console." I tried this 3 or 4 times now.

Is it normal for dosflash not to be able to read the drive once flashed?

Have I got the wrong key? I dumped it twice and JF didn't notify that the key or dump was incomplete (had that with some 74850C models)

Is the key encrypted?

Thanks again for your replies

Thanks for the reply, sorry if I'm in the wrong forum...

Are you saying that I've bricked the liteon?   sad.gif
