so non ones had this happen on a liteon 74 yet right? im plannin on flashin in the next couple weeks... go tmy box repaird few month back

A quick solution for all your problems.

Lite-On Drive with Firmware 83850c wont get you a correct key via lo83info?

Perhaps

only the sticker says its 83850c Firmware, but its not

It has the old Firmware, so just probe it like the old 74s to get the key...

This is a possibility. I have come across 2 of these drives in the past.

BUT if Jungle Flasher is showing the 8XXX firmware when plugged in then it is not 7XXX.

also depends on chipset i cant read the drive at all with a nforce 610i chipset but i can read with a intel chipset i made a thread on this

but thats not the Treadstartes´s point.

If you have done many 83s Lite-ons, and have one that is not working, i guess the only possible solution (beside drive is dead or damaged) is that it is a 74s

Just dumped and flashed a June 2009 83850c without a problem.

Also just came accross another September 2009 83850c which will not dump. Have also tried this using DOS.

i got a console back from repair today with a lite-on 83850c aug.2009 used J/F 1.66 dumped fine got the key swapped it out with a ben-q to test no problems here will post a log tomorrow

but i can confirm aug.2009 lite-on is hackable !

ive got one of these, cant seem to do it either,same prob wont extract
august 2009, 83850c
JF 1.66 reads it as a 8385 (not 83850c) .
ive only done 7 series before but never had trouble.
might try on a different chipset. any ideas weclome gutted just bought a new elite
lot 934x btw.

i have also hacked a august 2009 lite on no problems with 1.66 on via chipset.
