You dont have to restore to original when its a virgin drive. Have you deleted the drivers correctly for the via card before using jungleflasher? Also you could try firmware toolbox 4.8. Also what make sata chipset is your onboard and what op system have you?

Its not just one file. The below is how to do it.

For use of the VIA Cards in Windows 7/Vista it is recommended to uninstall the VIA driver. This can be
done like follows:
- start "Device Manager" ] expand "Storage controllers" ] right click on "VIA RAID Controller" ]
choose "Uninstall" ] "OK"
- rename C:\Windows\inf\vsmraid.inf to vsmraid.inf_
- rename C:\Windows\inf\vsmraid.PNF to vsmraid.PNF_
- rename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\vsmraid.sys to vsmraid.sys_
- reboot computer

all i did was get rid of the file in the System32 folder and i didnt have a problem before then one day all the hitachi drives started messin up but i renamed those other 2 files and rebooted so i guess ill see what happens next time i get a hitachi drive
