status 28 no driver installed .to enable port io use check via ports only under dvd key 32 have look threw manual in jf that will help download foxit reader to view it or any other pdf viewer..
Seemingly you didnt fully read my post thoroughly where I said that checking that box made no difference, however thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have now found the solution, so am posting it here just in case someone else ever has the same problem, and they can now find it in a search....
As previously stated, Jungleflasher looks for a via device with a status 39. A device that has never ever been installed from a format provides code 28. The answer lies in the fact that a device that has once had drivers, but has now had its drivers removed provides status 39. Perhaps Jungleflasher should be looking for a status 39 or a 28, but as it doesnt, the solution I had to do was the following :
1. In Device Manager, uninstall the PortIO device (no need to reboot as it suggests)
2. Manualy remove the PortIO driver file (files can be found under device manager, look at the portIO device driver details to see the filename)
3. Update the drivers on the Via card to the correct windows drivers (5.30 preferrered).
4. Reboot.
5. Follow the instructions in the appendix in the Jungle Flasher guide for manualy removing the Via driver files.
6. Manualy (re)install the PortIO driver as per the readme file in the PortIO package.
7. Driver status on the Via card will now have changed from 28 to 39 !
8. A reboot was required for me (said it wasnt needed in the readme, but I had to).
9 PortIO now works perfectly in jungleflasher.
Im guessing most people have gone down the route of already having the drivers installed and removing them, so have never come accross the status 28 issue.
