Well i am trying to extract my key using the maximus usb xtractor and having the 360 console as the power source. Everytime i try to extract the key on jungleflasher i get ***warning*** bad serial data and on xtractor reader i get the bc=0 error. I might not be doing the half open tray trick right or something. Can anyone help? Should the light be blinking during the half tray open trick?

yes it should be blinking and try putting on the xbox before the pc powers on. That worked for me.

if you're using the 360 to power it, then dont use the power button for power cycling.

- Turn on the 360
- Eject the drive
- Pull out the small power cable from the back of the DVD drive (the cable that connected the drive to the - motherboard - NOT the SATA cable)
- Push the tray half way in
- Plug that little power cable back into the dvd drive
- Dump the key

the key is dont use the 360's power button unplug the little power cable on the back of the dvd drive and plug it back in when needed.

i tried what both of you have said but still i cannot get the key off. Can it be a faulty usb xtractor is there a way to test? I also read that in some other tutorial to ground the pc and xbox 360 with alligator clips, is this necessary?

do you have the proper COM port selected in jungleflasher?  Did you install teh USBxtarctor drivers?

the most common ,mistakes are using the USB xtarctor ona 8xxxx series drive and not selecting the proper comm port

Are you using JF 1.66 ?

Rrod240, when you reinsert the cable, the drive just closes fully. I tried that. Most times you cant get the key when the drive is not in the half tray position. This is what is recommended:

Power xbox
Eject drive
Pull out power plug from drive.
Pull out pin 3 from the power plug
Reinsert power plug.
Close drive half way.

the green led in the ring of light should be flashing.

Turn on your pc.
Dump key.

On the power plug itself there are 12pins:
(go on this link: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=668247 to find the picture)

When I said pin, I meant wire. It is called a 'pinout'

You have to lift the lever on wire three from the socket and pull the wire out.

ok i understand but how do i lift the lever and do i have to ground the 360 and pc with alligator clips because it says that pin 3 closes dvd drive when connected to ground? And you said that when you plug in the power plug to the dvd cord again, that it would close for you, is it bad if it doesn't close for me? Also how do i know if i am doing the half tray right? like is there a way for jungleflasher or something to tell you that the tray is in closed state while its half way open or whatever that mode is called?
