I Need Some Help Flashing A Hitachi V79 Drive
« on: September 11, 2009, 04:36:00 PM »

Hey guys, Im currently running a brand new installation of windows 7 x64 and im trying to flash my hitachi gdr-3120l, for some reason JF isn't detecting the drive on any of the ports, now ive heard you don't have to install portio so i didn't and i tried using winapi but it doesn't work, if i actually do have to install portio then how do i go about doing it in windows 7 the manual install just tells me that it isn't the right driver for my device.

Okay so i got x86 installed and jungleflasher working for the most part, it now detects all my drives except for the one i want to modify, the Hitachi shows in the bios and on startup as whats on sata4 but not in JF. Ive installed portio it shows up fine in device manager. Is there something im doing wrong?

Use a primary port.

For 64bit, you have to set modeb via Slax and run JF, its the only way to get te drive recognised.
