open up your db.dta & look for:

QUOTE

(howdeep deep is your love ; will be replaced by song abbrevation
   ( Bulwinkle " 9/10/03 " 12000 kRatingPass)
   ( Rocky " 9/10/03 " 11000 kRatingPass)
   ( Boris " 9/10/03 " 9500 kRatingPass)
   ( Sherman " 9/10/03 " 10000 kRatingPass)
)

change this to:
QUOTE

(howdeep ; will be replaced by song abbrevation
   ( Bulwinkle " 9/10/03 " 12000 kRatingPass)
   ( Rocky " 9/10/03 " 11000 kRatingPass)
   ( Boris " 9/10/03 " 9500 kRatingPass)
   ( Sherman " 9/10/03 " 10000 kRatingPass)
)

The Howdeep.zip from the ftp site has a dodgy db.dta.entry file in the zip file.  I've tested all the other songs & they all appear to work & don't cause the screen to freeze.  I only found the problem on howdeep.zip.  I'll upload an updated howdeep.zip soon.

Good luck!

I've been working on trying to add Ocean Avenue to the game and finally got it to appear in the game using KRmaker .12, I never could get .13 to work for some reason.  It shows up in the song select and plays a preview of it but when I load it the game freezes.  I checked the db and songs file and everything looks ok.  This is the db.dta entry

;; Ocean Avenue
   (ocean
      ( Bulwinkle " 9/10/03 " 12000 kRatingPass)
      ( Rocky " 9/10/03 " 11000 kRatingPass)
      ( Boris " 9/10/03 " 9500 kRatingPass)
      ( Sherman " 9/10/03 " 10000 kRatingPass)
)

and this is the songs entry:

;; Ocean Avenue
(ocean ; will be replaced by song abbrevation
   (title  "Ocean Avenue")
   (artist "Yellowcard")
   (song_length "3:18")
   (complexity kCompAverage) ; options are: kCompSimple kCompAverage kCompDifficult
   (bpm 80)
   (genre kGenreRock) ; options are: kGenre70s kGenre80s kGenreRock kGenreSlow
   (preview 39680 69680) ; start and end for song preview in millis
   (hud_time_scale 2.0) ; number of seconds in one screen in scrolling version
   (hud_lyric_scale 1.2)  ; scale of lyric font (1 = normal, 2 = twice as big)
   (boot_sound heavy) ; options are: dj light heavy
   (stage_chars guitarist drummer bassist keyboardist); options are one or more of: dj guitarist drummer bassist keyboardist
)

any ideas?

the db.dta entry looks ok to me.  All I can suggest is to make sure all the entries are in the songs.dta file correctly.  check the folders / files are on the xbox with the correct names.

Any reason why KRMaker .13 wouldn't work?  Did you  try downloading the latest java from sun ?(http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp)

If you can get krmaker .13 working it might be a little more helpful in diagnosing the problem with the song.

Good luck

If we are going to upload songs, lets make sure the notes match, pitch and timing.... I mean a few random notes is not hard to live with but some of the new songs!  I know i dont release like 5 songs at a time....but I make sure there correct before uploading them.  (Jeremy and Karma Police)  If I didn't have a two year old dying for attention I'd have more done.....
