Sometime during the day tomorrow (Tuesday, July 19th) when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept a mandatory system update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.

There are no new features that will show up once your system has been updated.

This update is preparation for additional system enhancements coming to Xbox 360 later this year.

Minimal what System Update will do: reflash our DVD ROM firmware biggrin.gif That's an assumption.. but I think it's 100% accurate.

Now we need to wait for LT+ v1.9 compatibility tests with a new Dashboard.

Not necessarily. We may find out if the system update reflashes drives again or not. I don't think that's pointless speculation.

Microsoft has no reason to flash all Xbox 360 drives again because they did it once only to bring XGD3 support to all consoles. This unless they want to add new security measures or new features which I highly doubt.

speculation *Methinks AP25 tables will be updated and new security measures will be implemented, maybe they are preparing for Xkey launch*

Always makes me wonder when they release a sys update with no new features, why bother? If i recall correctly they did this before, about 4 months before the big MW2 banwave  ohmy.gif

XGD3 is a joke, the old firmware was fine.

my xbox just got updated and reflashed

trying to reflash with lizard and it freezes
Jf picks up the drive but wont get it to unlock
well slims have now been updated to 0272
