Xport Emulators On Hdtv's
« on: May 08, 2005, 04:53:00 AM »

I have searched and searched for a solution, im running HD on my xbox, i cannot get past a scrambled screen. How can i change the default resolution,

i searched the FAQ all i could find is

QUOTE
Q: Why can't I save the hires video mode settings? (E.g. 1080i)

A: Setting the hires video mode has the potential of causing many more problems for me
(and possibly other people) than it would solve for you.

Not very helpful at all, i dont care if it runs the emu in HD, i just want to be able to see it.

Resoloution probably has nothing to do with it. If your TV can't display normal resoloutions then it's a waste of money. Have you got everything pluged in correctly? Sound in sound section, video in video section? I've done that once or twice laugh.gif.

Try posting your TV's video settings here, it'll be handy to know how it's set up. Some info on what's plugged into the TV, whether you're using a splitter or have the Xbox plugged into a VCR, you know, the usual.

Mine works fine at 720p... Sounds to me like xport is outputting 480i and your TV doesn't like it.

My tv supports all normal settings, 480p and 1080i. It does not support 720p at least from what ive seen, I can only assume that xport is trying to run at 720. I have disabled this setting in my xbox, but no change. I can run on the Svideo cables rather than the HD set just fine.

Also, i am using the new hd kit from MS, not the original box.

hmmmmm, my TV does support 720p...

However, when any xport emu starts up, doesn't it default to 480i first? And any HDTV should be able to display that no problem. Perhaps you accidently changed the default setting to something your TV does not support?

Have you tried a fresh install of the emu in question, to get the fefault settings back?

I ran into the same problem... it's not the tv.  I have to disable 480p in the bios and then it will work.

I have the same problem but only if launching from xbmc.  If I launch from avalaunch or any other dash they launch perfectly.  My tv supports all video modes by the way, so the problem is not an incompatibily with the television.

I have this problem to. I am launching from UnleashX and I get this. I recently got a new box with a 1.6b motherboard in it and before I had a 1.0 and all the xport emus worked fine on my hdtv. The only difference is that there have been two updates to unleashx since I had it working before and the differnet xbox version.

I just tried it with Avalaunch and it loads correctly, UnleashX does not.

I too have the same problem, I thought my TV didn't support 480p for a little while becuase it was always screwing up, but it displays both 480p and 1080i so I know its not that. I guess it has something to do with the dashboard, but that really dosn't make any sense.

If I disable 480p in the M$ Dashboard, it works perfectly, I just had to memerize the way to get to the resolution screen and I can fix it from memory, but it would be nice if we can get a fix or something like that.

Count me in.  All Xport emus but xboxadvance suffer this. I have a Samsung TXP3066W, using XBMC as dashboard.

If I disable 480p support everything works fine. Surreal, FBAX, MameOX, xsnes9x all launch fine straight out of the box too so this must have something to do with the emulators.

I've been hoping a workaround would emerge for this for at least 6 months now  sad.gif

what is sounds like to me is that your hdtvs cannot display 480i and most of xports emus start at that res everytime you start the emu.  Sucks to be jew.

Does it display the game in 4:3 or 16:9 format when in HD?
