It sounds like one of the replacement power cords MS sent out to Xbox owners when it was found that the original figure 8 lead may have had the vaguest possibility of a connection to an few incidents when Xboxes caught fire.

The replacement I think just has a safety cut out built in. I've never heard of it causing problems with any other equipment but the chances are that there aren't that many being used for such purposes. There shouldn't be any problem, it is just a power lead, but unless somebody here has some direct experience any advice you receive here can't be given any guarantee.
