I think it's fake. The was hardly formal, and what kind of rich founder of a rich company would sign some stupid petition? No-one ever gives a damn about petitions!

i laugh at anyone who belives this.

First, the statement amounts to admitting to selling a defective product opening he and his corperation up to massive lawsuits.

Second, Bill Gates is not going to take time out of his day to address this, thats what his lawyers are for.

Third, in what manner would most people be able to prove they are eligable for the discount? Most people dont save reciepts for 4 years. What if you bought it used/ refurbed?

And fourth, MS has not released an official launch date of the next gen xbox. The November date is when its "expected". Remeber how many other things were "expected" early on in xbox history. I rember  a claim that they would have 100 xbox live games by the end of the first year.........around 18 months later they hit the mark.
