I just installed xtra ram on my xbox. There are NO BRIDGES. and it frags. is it possible that I have a bad ram chip? if so god dammit i dont want to remove them

... Anyways. anyone would know why it frags?

you could of held the iron on the points to long.
those chips are very sinsitive and heat can fuck them up real easy.

Could be bad ram. Did you remove it yourself? Could have burn it out. Also, and this is kinda a stupid suggestion, but double check and make sure you have the chip aligned right (i.e. solder pad 1 is with leg 1)

All of em are withthe correct corners, and yes I removed them myself. but I use verry little heat (i dont lay it on long) I used a 15W rat crap iron with a brand new tip.

most likely is a dry solder joint on one of the memory chips legs

god dammit i want to shoot myself.. Ive never had so much trouble with ram.. . Ill look it over again i guess... my head is being a bitch tho... dam small chips... y not use standard ram!!! lmao

what are th eodds that it's plainly a bad chip on there? cause i dont seem to find a dry connection i puhed them all.

i ran across pretty violently.. and i may of found a bridge... but since the iron is hot im gonna reheat all legs that are sketchy looking

Edit: Just reran across evrything... nada... but i just realised thatr it's not gragging but a frao... (same as a frag but orange light) never had it OJ before.. unless i have to much solder funed in my eyes it;s a frao.

I had a frao when I did mine. it turned out that I had moved a little surface mount capacitor near the ram chips when I was using my hot air reworking station. I fixed that and it worked.

another update. all resoldered in. no bridges. all it does now is frao it's called? on off on off on red\orange,,,,,
