Before I begin, let me say that I've read the threads that seem to be relevent and looked through the XBOX Media Center's support info. No, I haven't read everything. THere's too much information out there and it would literally take days to weed through everything. But I've made an honest effort to solve my problems on my own.
I've now spent the better part of the day trying to get this to work the way I want it to work and am still running into several problems.
I was hoping that there would be someone who would be willing to have an ongoing discussion with me via email so that I can get this configured as I want it. But here are the issues I am facing:
1). I am able to connect to my PC server and accesst pictures, but I can onlu do so via XNS. SMB and WORKGROUPS (SMB) give me the eror "Access Denied"
I have created an account for the xbox and given it administrative rights. It should be able to access whatever it likes. Why am I still getting htis error?
More importantly, do I care? If XNS is working, what are the benefits of using alternate methods (SMB)?
2). Despite entering a specific path for XNS, any time choose "My Pictures" it seems to take me to the same default location. Funny thing is that it doesn't look like any location on my PC file server, but I am able to get there.
3). Video. It can find the folder fine, but when I click the folder containg the video it just loops me back to the default location (see above)
That's about it for now. I would really like to get this working as it seems quite cool. I'll be happy to post my XML or do whatever needs to be done to help me out here. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to your responses!
