ok. umm it should lock when you select it. idk why it isnt. when it is locked it should say "unlock hDD". (switches from "lock" to "unlock") when you get the bios and flash report back.

X2 5035 can be found in /XBOX/Console Based Applications/bios/Xecuter/xecuter2/MULTI_VERSION

Ok, I got it, dumped it over to the C drive with FTPing in and went through add new item and all that. When I got done and selected it, the Xbox restarted and the screen is blank now. I can still get in through the eject power option, but still a no go with evox. Driving me nuts here.

so i take it you got the bios to work. booting to the evox dashboard, and error 5 is gone now since a modded bios has been flashed and being used?

just thought of something to get your HDD to lock if you ever wanted to use the retail bios for anything like LIVE. go to EEprom Tools>>Backup EEprom. after you do that try to lock the HDD. also you might want to keep it unlocked just incase the mobo goes. also back up your HDD to your PC so you have a backup if something shour go wrong. as well as the eeprom.bin file. the cieguide will tell you how to do this.

from the launch menu click the X2 bios you put in there. you might have to edit the .ini file via X2 config maker to boot to the evox .xbe file.

Well after running through this thing all night I am still unable to get it to work. I just keep getting the 05 error code but I can still get into the xenium menu from the eject button. My last question to you guys is what do you think I should put this up for sale for? And will it even sell given these issues? Im sure someone is more knowledgeable than me and can fix it, but just wondering what you guys think. Thanks again for all the help, too bad I cant take this somewhere and get it fixed(think MS might have a problem with that LOL)
I guess its time to look at 360s seeing as no games are really gonna be coming out for Xbox soon.

Devin

if you have flashed the bios you should not be booting an error 5. are you sure once you flash the X2 bios you are using it? go into the launch menu and click it from there. in order to power on using the POWER button you will have to set the X2 as the default bios.

your xbox is fine and the chip is fine.

you can set the bios as default.

launch menu>>set default item>>then choose the X2 bios. the next time you power on it should boot directly into your dash.
