im pretty sure this guy does not have his eeprom backed on his computer...am i wrong?

if you clicked backup on your dashboard that saved yourbackup info on your XBOX hdd what you had to do next was send that from your xbox to your computer...did you do that???

No, I did not put a backup EEPROM on my computer. Next time I ever mod and Xbox, I will make backups.

EVERYBODY FLAME HIM HE DIDNT BACK UP!!!!!!! just kidding...i know that there is a way to restore your box without the eeprom but for the life of me i cant remember it...i had this same problem a while back got the solution and was to lazy to actually solve it

Before you go and hotswap, are you able to boot anything? If you put a disc in your xbox, power it off, and then power on again, can you boot originals or backups?

Anything that is not an original game (ie. anything that you burned).

just another idea, can you press the power button and then the eject button to start the box? probably not but its worth a shot.

also, if you can boot backups, you could boot an autoinstaller disk and redo the hdd that way. basically, you need to get ftp access so you can get the eeprom.

that wont work guys...the xbox looks for a clock and time before it reads the dvd tray so if he is getting error 16 he cant load any thing from the dvd drive

He already told us that he could boot Splinter Cell in it's present condition. Error 16 simply means that some of the dashboard files are missing, not necessarily that the clock is not set (but that could be it).
