Backing Up Xbox Hard Drive Problem
« on: April 27, 2006, 08:06:00 AM »

For the last few weeks I have been trying to back up my xbox hard drive to my PC.

After reading countless forums I was told to back up folders C & E to my PC. The C folder transferred no probs.
But when I try to transfer the E folder every time it gets to a file called "filler.sav" it stops transferring. I found out that the filler.sav file is where all my game saves are. I have found 3 seperate filler.sav files in the E folder and none of them will transfer successfully.
Does it matter if I leave those files out?
Is there a way around this?
Does it matter if I don't transfer E folder to my PC?

I am using flash ftp and connecting straight to PC through a crossover cable.
By using a different ftp program will this make a diff to those files?
Thanks

The only stuff you really need is the eeprom.bin (holy grail of backups), UDATA, and TDATA. UDATA and TDATA hold your gamesaves.

The other files on C and E can be found in an autoinstaller disc, so it's not essential to back them up. But just make %100 sure that you get the eeprom.bin file, it can save your ass when nothing else works.
