ok, but the chip has the cromwell flashed onto it? and if i start up the modchip with an xbox with error 16 stuck onto it, will it automatically work... even with no eeprom?

if you are bootign to error 16 thats not a "no eeprom" problem

and yes, a chip with cromwell will boot an error 16 xbox

Stick the chip in, FLASH THE CHIP WITH A HACKED BIOS, then stick in a new hard drive and prepare it with Slayer's 2.6 or Auto Installer Deluxe 3.0

... after you're done, you can choose to lock the hdd if you wanna use XBL or leave it unlocked if you don't use XBL.
