Just found the joys of XBMC myself.. And think the interface looks great.. I have a smb share to Relax,  and without putting any settings in it found the root of my Relax shares and listed below the mapped drives. However..... try it this way. If you don't put in a name after the IP you get all shares. You can also scan for all music in your shares.
