Myself I LOVE this app; just read a thread from some haters. Its in my top 5 of vital mods/apps to the xbox. Life without xbmp would be like life without the DeCSS

I spend more time with Xbmp than I do playing games, that's quite something considering the xbox is a games console

yup, xbmp is the biggest reason i bought the Xbox

playing divx movies, animes and mp3's on the TV thru the surround system is the biz. If it wasnt such a "taboo" subject, i'd nominate it for some sort of award....

I originally wasn't planning on using XBMP, but once I played around with it, got it to read my SMB shares, and the remote control I must admit it is just a jaw dropping experience. It's almost everything I could've asked for in a media center.

A few things could be done to improve it such as more configurable interface and more screen savers, but I can live with what I got.

its awesome. ive been at the last full stop planing on what to write on why its so good... but i dont know where to start... its honestly THAT good.

i use it daily... serveral times, all it needs is Stream/Recording Video functions....

Hands down LOVE it! Once I got it to work, it has been a dream come true. And to think I was planning on buying a media center PC. Ha! Xbox for 10% of the cost!

With it, the Xbox became THE digital media center, by sheer accident. Hands down the greatest app available for the XBox. It speaks volumes about it's brilliance when people are buying Xboxes - just for XBMP.

Long live the XBMP team, and OS software in general. Without it, we wouldn't have XBMP. And I think a particular shout must go out to all the devs on the MPlayer/ffmpeg projects, upon which XBMP is based.

I use it alot, I just wish they would fix the horrendous fast forward/rewinding controls... it literally rewinds 1 minute per second.

It's awesome except it doesn't allow straight AC3 passthrough (AC3 sounds horrible coming from it!). Once that's fixed/implemented, there's nothing else I want from XBMP. It's one of the key reasons I bought the Xbox.
