phenomenal work.

i was having nothing but grief from both SMB (hangs, etc) and RelaX (the new 'back button issue')...

ccxstream seems to be working flawlessly and transparently.

thanks again

Is ccxstream also working on OS X ? I read there was a linux version so can i use it.
And i don't know where to put request, but they are putting in some apple tech in newest player. So why don't they put in Rendevouz with Quicktime Streaming(i know Rendevouz not from apple). Rendevouz is very easy (no setup) and works great. iTunes will be availabel soon for Windows so they can use it too. (there are some alpha build availale on the web)
So that are mine thoughts about streaming protocol.

I got CCXStream working, but it doesn't stream video so well.  It's really choppy when you first begin and anytime you seek to a different location.  Relax streamed flawlessly, except it would lose connection and I couldn't watch a second movie or switch to my Music folder.

If I could either get CCXstream working smoothly or get Relax to stop losing connection, I would be a happy camper.  Can anyone help?

Relax is great for movies.  I just can't get XBMP to load to hit 99% of the time.

I am using Complex, since CVS wouldn't even load.

When it works, it works flawlessly!

Frustrating!

Well Have been using ccxstream now for two days and I have to say it is a hell of a lot better than Relax... IMHO.  I have not had one problem with it yet... Knock on wood smile.gif  I just wish you could run it as a service in the backgroud :/  I'm very happy with ccxstream thus far.

PS... Great Tutorial!

bxStream run as service and also is faster and very light.

that's my experience,

i was experiencing the relax hang problem so I decided to try ccxStream. Seems to work fine but none of my thumbnails show up. I have the *.tbn files in the correct place and when using relax they were showing up fine.

Any ideas?

hey all, got a question...  I cant seem to get ccxstream working correctly nor the windows filesharing for my xbox.  I know the settings are almost spot on, but I dont know whats holding it up.  maybe cache size... dunno.

in XBMP I have it setup to connect to my PC via smb.... I click on the correct icon for it, takes a sec... loads a new screen as if it were to display my contents over the network but it doesnt display data at all.  I can back out fine, it doesnt lock my sytem up like when it doesnt work (ie, the settings being wrong for the connection)....

Is there anyone out there that might know a sollution to this.... the same problem of not displaying the data is happening with ccxstream and the windows file sharing.

also if you can PM me to make sure I catch the thread...

cudos to w m z yet again, and I love your avatar.

Cheers for the great tutorial. I have only one problem, when I set ccxstream up, my music played great, but my movies didnt show up at all. I set them up the same, with no success on movies. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I need a little help.  I cant get either relax or ccxstream to work.  Well I did get relax working a few times but it kept loosing connection.  Any how I am trying to do this on a xp machine.  Here is my configuration.

xbmp:

     <share>
       <name>Network (XBMSP)</name>
       <url>xbmsp://192.168.2.6/music</url>
       <cachesize>256</cachesize>
     </share>

ccxstream:

-I 192.168.2.6 -S music=D:All in AllMusic -S video=D:All in All

Anyone see anything wrong with this config?  I know I have it running as a service correctly.  So very confused.  In the ccxstream code is it supposed to be a -L or -I?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try a higher chachesize for starters.

Lower case L.

-l 192.168.2.6 -S ....
