Mpeg Files Too Big For Xbmp...anyway Around It?
« on: August 25, 2003, 11:19:00 PM »

I record Tv shows on my computer and copy them to my Xbox HDD to watch in XBMP, an hour show is around 3gb since I am recording them in DVD quality.  The problem is, XBMP will only read 2gb of the 3gb of the show...........so it cuts off around the 40 minute mark.  Its a pain in the ass to cut all of these shows to fit XBMPs settings.  Is there anyway around this barrier?  Thanks.

PS  I update to the latest CVS release and it didnt work :(

A splitter might help; it's called AVI/MPEG/ASF/WMV Splitter, you can get this at boilsoft.com. Hope this helps!

I'm also having problems playing MPEGs > 2GB.

Is this some kind of XBOX limitation on file sizes and if so, then why does the XboxMediaPlayer 2.4 point release notes state the following:

"Support for MPEG & OGM files larger than 2GB (not OpenDML AVI's) (NEW!)"

Has anyone had success playing MPEGs > 2GB from HD, SMB or XNS?
