Xbmc Freezes (networking Problems)
« on: May 25, 2006, 11:24:00 AM »

When I disconnect the ethernet cable before starting up XBMC it works perfectly (without network), but when the ethernet cable is plugged in all I get is the first menu and a "busy" at the left bottom, and the it freezes there.

Apparently it has to do with the network. I read somewhere that there were problems with the rss feed, but that's over a year ago so I guess that's fixed.

Does anyone have any good ideas??

what version of XBMC are you running? please remember to post this information EVERY time that you ask a question, or the community can't help you.

Does this problem occur with all dash boards?  I suggest you try say avalaunch and see if it gives you the same problem, if thats the case the ics chip may be bad (this happened to me).  The other thing to try would be to delete your XBMC gamesaves, install the latest XBMC, and set the network to DHCP.
