How Do I Reformat An Unlocked Hard Drive?

You need to delete the existing partition, and then re-create using a valid windows file system before you can format it.  Failing this, get the diag disk from the maker of the drive and do a write zeros to drive.

laugh.gif  Copy Fdisk.exe onto a floppy...

Restart into dos mode on that computer
Type in FDISK

then press y when it asks u if u want to . Then press 4 to view the partitions
, then u should see a partition that is non-dos ..delete it by pressing esc , then pressing 3 in the main menu , then press 4 NON-DOS delete...once it deletes it go to Create primary partition by perssing 1 , and ur  basically done...Nothing else is to it
