Putting Vid Files On The Xbox And Playing Them

i want to put some video files from my comp onto my xbox and play them on my TV....
i have an FTP program, and  know how to use it, but is there any special format that i have to have th files in to play them?  or is there anything special i have to do?
and where do i put the files?

Hey DDD123...no you don't have to have your video files in any special format they just have to be in a format that is supported by Xbox Media Center (which is basically EVERY format :D).  Remember the limitations of Xbox file names (42 characters or less and no special symbols like $%^ etc.)  Put the files either in your E: or F: partition on your Xbox (or G: if you have a hard drive over 137 gigs with LBA support :)).  Remember to put them in a place you will remember like say F:\Videos and make sure you have enough hard drive space.  Hope that helps!
