I bought a JTAGed Jasper from abrute one year ago and it worked beautifully until I botched a flash. I sent that one for a re-flash and a different one for the RGH fix. Just got them both back and they're working beautifully. He had them fixed two days after receiving them and I had them back a week later. Thanks for the service Adam!

Just received my Jasper JTAG 512MB from abrute. He did a wonderful job. Boots great, Xell Reloaded on eject, clean flash, fast boot every time. You can tell he put in hard work to make this box as nice as possible. Thank you immensely, if I have any friends looking for a RGH or JTAG, I'll send them to you from now on (And any other systems for myself of course   happy.gif ).

Have an awesome day abrute!

Heya abrute, upon using the JTAG over the last couple days, there are some serious issues with the box.

For one, it seems to have a hard crash at least every 90 minutes, whether idling or playing (It's not the auto-shutdown, that's been set to six hours). Could crash/shut-down in five minutes, could be 90.

The video sometimes flickers black for 0.5s when going through HDMI, or has extreme color artifacting through component. Was this box a repair of a once-broken system? Could you also please provide the virgin NAND dumps. I'm hoping a reflash may do the trick, but this sounds like something hardware based.

Any ideas? Or steps I could do for troubleshooting?

Thanks.

That system had never been opened aside from me jtagging it. It seems like Jaspers are having all sorts of issues and I have no explanation. If you pm me the serial ill send you the nand dump. maybe try using an older freeboot. Make sure your fan settings are tuned right, etc. I'm curious to know if other modders are having the same issues with Jaspers.

Thought you might like to know. The box is now going into the trash can. Won't turn on, won't do anything. Had it sitting on the desk FTPing data to it, when it turned off on it's own (for the 10th time in about four hours). For the next three power-ons it threw three RRoDs, one E71, and then tons of scrambled video. Now it does nothing, absolutely nothing, with no fault light on the PSU when I press power or eject.

I don't want to pay another $20 to ship it in for repairs, and another $20 for the trip back, and even if it did get repaired, I'd have no confidence in the system. Bummer, good luck with your business.

Change of plans, not going to dispose of the box. I'm willing to pay for shipping to get it back to you. Maybe it can be re-flowed or repaired. Either way, it does no good for me to hold onto a nonfunctional system. If you'd like, I can take a video of it not working, showing using two different PSUs and different video cables to no response.

Requesting a refund via dispute on PayPal.

I am getting so tired of people like you coming in to this thread and blasting your drama. I would have no problem helping you if you did the respectful thing and kept things private. The fact that you went as far as to post and say you were throwing the system in the trash is just downright disrespectful.

Also, The normal process is to discuss items with the seller before opening a dispute. The system was working 100% before it left for you. It was never opened before. Due to the nature of what I'm doing, everything is sold as-is. You can do whatever you like with the system, you own it. If you ship it back to me I will refuse delivery and I will not issue a refund. I have been more than helpful with you already, this was completely uncalled for.

Have a nice day.

Also, That was a pretty bad move to write what you did in the dispute. That puts us both in a bad legal situation since you had to mention the system was modified or "hacked" as you stated.

I think your customers have the right to talk about your services here on xbs.  Potential customers need to understand the risks involved, as well.
BTW, why is there no 'bad refs' in your sig?  I've seen plenty in this thread...

I'd like to add another positive post.  I sent my slim to abrute to have some work done and received it back very quickly.  It's a little scary to send a couple hundred dollars worth of equipement to a complete stranger, but this transaction has been nothing short of excellent for me.  There was great communication, clean work, and zero problems/issues with the returned system.  I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  Thanks abrute!!

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

At this point in time I will not be purchasing any more systems unless I find a killer deal. Since no one seems have an explanation for all of the issues with Jasper systems, I am simply no longer going to work on them. I will only be accepting slims for RGH service at this time.

This isn't to say that if a few slims fall in to my lap I won't sell them. I'm just looking to spend more time on other projects and the slims are quick, easy, painless.

If you are absolutely dead set on having an RGH jasper, falcon, etc I can provide the service and guarantee the system not DOA, any issues you may have after that you will be 100% responsible for and no refund will be issued.

I will also drop my RGH slim price to $65 per unit. This includes return shipping.

For all of you who have sent your systems in for repair or service, All systems should be shipped back on Monday, Feb 6.

For sale currently:

RGH slim bare console (missing dvd bezel and hd cover), I will accept any reasonable offer.

4gb RGH slim with no dvd drive (bare console), I will accept any reasonable offer for that as well.

I also have quite a few phat hard drives and dvd drives that I'd like to get rid of.

Thanks again and have a nice weekend
