From T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE
New Dashboard install method
Thanks to a new app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now extremely easy...
Edit XBMC\xboxmediacenter.xml to your liking & transfer contents of XBMC folder TO (this is VERY important) "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<RENAME_ME.xbe>> to something your bios can boot  (see http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de/wakka.php...BMCAsDash#h44-2 or read your BIOS README)  and transfer to your C partition. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore, and future upgrades you won't  need to worry about this file on C.

You can add more scripts and skins yourself if desired. You can download them from http://allxboxskins.com, http://www.xbox-skins.net and http://www.xbmcscripts.com.
Keep in mind this is a CVS snapshot of the current development tree. It's not a official (stable) point release. Use only if you know what you are doing.

I have the same problem in this release as I have had for the last 6-8 weeks:
1. Stacking does not work
2. Fast FW/RW does not work when watching a movie (VOB). The OSD shows up and indicates that something is happening, but the movie continues to play normal
3. Pressing the 'Display' button on the remote while watching a movie will crash XBMC (screen turns black and that's it ...)
4. When listening to shoutcast streams, the sound sometimes disappear. OSD and Visualisation still seems OK. But you have to reboot to get the sound back.

Folder '0face008' in TDATA and UDATA has been deleted during installation of the new versions.

Any help will be appreciated.

Holding the R button and rewinding at high speeds still resets video to its beginning. =/

Just use the D Pad Left or Right to jump back in chunks then tap the R trigger to fast forward in small doses to get to the point you want to be at. (Make sense?)

That's what I usually do becuase of the bug; it's just a pain when I only need to rewind for 10 seconds or so and end up skipping back to the beginning of a file.

Anything changed in the .xml? I havn't updated since, I think 20th Novembre or something.

And what's up with the RENAME_ME.xbe? I have a softmod and got XBMC setup as my default dashboard thanks to JayDee's Krayzie UXE's softmod tutorial. So what should I do with the RENAME_ME.xbe? Rename it to xboxdash.xbe and put it in the C drive?

suggest you read the README that included.
the included RENAME_ME.xbe is probably not suited for softmods, but you can make your own, guess where info are how to obtain the necessary tool, the R E A D M E!

Then again, I dont know shit about softmods...

I have the same problems as #2 (works fine with AVI/MPG playback from share or HDD, just not DVD VOB playback), and additionally, it seems like I get random play length when playing DVD's before it simply freezes (can't B-button out or IGR at all...XBMC appears locked up hard).  This is all with 05-12-2005 release all the way back at least 3 months.  Notice that free memory is down to around 3-4MB when this happens (normally starts out at 12-14MB free when playing DVD).  I am running GUI and DVD play back at 1080i and default CACHE settings.  I'm going to try to upgrade the DRAM to 128MB and see if that helps.  Friend that is only doing 480i standard def playback has problems with DVD playback beginning to stutter after about 90 to 120 minutes into DVD playback.  He can still B-button back out, and can restart the DVD playback without rebooting and skip to the problem area and all is fine (for another 90 minutes or so).

Right now, this problem alone is REALLY screwing up the WAF (wife acceptance factor) for this to be my main DVD player...

Any ideas?  TIA,

-Jhondra

Why are you saying that? I'm using XBMC on a softmodded (NDURE) xbox and it seems to work fine...

(I just put the RENAME_ME.xbe in e:\dashboard\default.xbe and XBMC in e:\apps\XBMC)

What feature am I (eventually missing)?

Use the back button to skip back a few seconds then, dead easy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
