IGR doesn't depend on the mod-chip......certain BIOSs have IGR, others do not. pretty sure my X2 can do it too..... <

yer x2 bios and chips have IGR, just enable it from the EVOX settings menu <

You can edit your bios or bios config tool to load the XBMC as your main dashboard everytime if you want to, just put the xbe file in the root of the C drive. But I dont think you can just have it selectivley boot XBMC sometimes by pressing certain buttons or something like that. <

I have a modded Xbox but I do not know what type of BIOS is installed nor do I think I can flash it since it's probably set to read only and not write. If you can point me in the right direction to determine all of these issues without having to open the box it will much appreciated.

i have my Xbox softmodded using XBMC as a dash, i just upgraded my softmod and now when i press the IGR combination, actually takes me back to XBMC(if game is on HD), also when i eject a disc (and doesn't reset the box if you eject while in dash) that's awesome.
