What Do I Need To Do
« on: April 03, 2005, 10:42:00 PM »

I am running XBMC as my dash and recently updated to the newest version out.   I used the instructions on their site and everything seems to work fine.   There were a few folders that the instructions said I would be deleting and replacing that weren't in the XBMC release that I got and I did get it from the correct place, it is not a hacked re-release.   A few friends and myself had our machines done by the same guy and the machines that were done after mine had the newer dash on them when they got them.   There are a couple things different on theirs that I can't seem to figure out well really just one.

They can do an IGR in an xbox game on their machines and I can't.  Also when their machines boot they get a black screen that says something like "we've got cookies" which I'm not at all concerned about.

I looked at the evox.ini file and in all instances the IGR's value is yes and it is set to L,R,back, start.  In the dash settings I have no place where I can turn it on or off.

Do I need to update evox?  If so, Can I do it with the Slayers disc without having to start from scratch?  and will XBMC still be intact as my dash?

Also a point toward a tutorial would be helpful, I've looked but there are so many on here and I may have overlooked something.

Any help would be greaty appreciated!
Thanks

I just checked and Slayers 2.6 is installed on my xbox so I would guess the newest build is on there already. <

Your a little, well...all over the place. If XBMC is your default dash your evox.ini doesnt have anything to do with how it boots up. Your XboxMediaCenter.xml, on the other hand, does along with several other .xml's associated with XBMC.
The bootscreen is just a splash.png located in the Media dir. You can make your own!
The users guide is 'fairly' comprehensive.

I use XBMC as my default dash and I moved Ava and Evox to the apps folder and all the conents of XBMC into C:\. Works great.

If you are using an Xecuter bios on your chip, then IGR is part of the BIOS.  This is how I do it and it works great because it doesn't matter what dash you use.  By default it is L+R+back+black <
