2 Questions About Xbmc
« on: March 25, 2005, 12:56:00 PM »

Im looking to install XBMC not as a dashboard but as a application under Avalaunch. How would I go on about doing that?

I also want to view movies from XBMC but I am not sure where to put the movie files at. Can someone help?

Do you have an apps folder on your hard drive? If so, create a xbmc folder in the apps folder and place xbmc inside of the xbmc folder. In the avalaunch.xml file find the entry about xbmc and specify the path to xbmc. You need to create a folder called movies or videos or anything you want and put you movies there. You will have to edit the xboxmediacenter.xml file to specify your movies folder. Well you don't have to do this but it will save you time in the long run. Let me know if you need to know anything else.

I've edited my XBMC.xml to look like this....I also creaated a Video folder on both the E: and F: drive....one for movies and one for tv shows....but I usually view videos over the network...so I have links directly to the folders containing Movies/TV...
