Weird Problem
« on: March 24, 2005, 10:18:00 AM »

ok here is what is happening.
I can burn in UDF a DVD+R with my .AVI and .MPG files and the xbox can read them.
but here is where things dont go well.
I launch XBMC (my dashboard) and go to my files (or videos for that matter) and select what i want to watch from the DVD and it just sits there. I can press the A button a million times and it just sits there.
I still can move around and do other things just not play from DVD. I did a search on this and thought media. so i went and bought several brands (all expensive) and still same problem.

Any advice welcome.

try coping the files to the xbox hdd and play them from there.

If it does not then likely whoever made your build did not copy the /xbmc/system/ directory. (whoever made your build sucks)

If it does work then whatever method your using to burn the disk is problematic and/or the dvd-rom drive has reading issues.

I could be wrong but...

The "Play DVD" function looks for .VOB files  Not AVI, MPG files  and since XBMC cannot find .VOB files,  it will not play (Hence just sitting there).

heh figured it out and it was a weird one.
seems that the db overhead was set at +60 and by setting that down to 0.0 it fixed it.. wild.
thanks though guys :)
