After XBMC does an IMDB scan of my movie folder, is there any way for XBMC to automatically save the .tbn file as something legible like Gladiator.tbn rather than 247c8837.tbn which it currently does?

Why?  XBMC saves it the way it does for a reason.  Filenames are not unique.  CRCs are.

If you need to find a particular thumb, just view the thumbs dir in the filemanager. <
