I have mathered the skills of sofmodding the xbox now. Now, i have been trying to do the upgrade wizard with xboxhdm_v1.9. I have a Maxtor 260 Gigabyte hard drive and i brought a XP desktop computer to read the ATA hard drives without having to buy all of those conversion adapters.. I used configmagic to make a cakup of my EEPROM.BIN file into the colder on xboxhdm diectory. The file configmagic generated the file names "EEROMBACKUP.BIN, so i renamed it to EEPROM.BIN . I built the hard drive so scratch and it put the C and E directories on the new hard drive and i chose the option to backup hdd password a floppy. But when i did the eeprom option and it says no eeprom found but when i go to the xbrowser and the file is present. Can anyone help me solve this? I read the guides and everything. Also how would i properly intall the hard drive on the xbox after i do successfully get this done? i feel like im almost there. locking and unlocking is making me lost.

linux is case sensitive.. you need to name the eeprom.bin "lower case letters" not EEPROM.BIN "capitals"

i did not make it in uppercase. The iso maker made everything in CAPS! well what i have been trying to do is upgrade a hard drive on a softmodded xbox for 3 years now. All the hotswapp

ing techiques and the eeprom was in the folder and says cannot find eeprom. Also i was attepting hotswap with configmagic and unlockd the hard drive and ended up getting error code 5 but i have another xbox on the way to try this again

what is the most easiest method to do? i have a maxtor 250gig a desktop computer now(Dell 4200) that would be completely compatable . I can go as far as creating a new drive from scratch and the F patition but when to lock or generate the hdd key it tells me canting find the eeprom.bin on cd.(One other thing is that the eeprom.bin file has a "*" next to it. Any advice or link to the best detailed tutorial?

I copy the C and E drives to the PC. In the E drive there is a back up of the eeprom made from the softmod install. Use that File.

i have done that, i saw a video where someone used to upgrade a hard drive using chimp on a chipped xbox but can you do it on a softmodded?

I think you can. You would need to read about Chimp though. I have never used it. I always do HDD upgrades through the PC. Google Chimp2618.
