Geb's Cap Swap Kits
« on: August 23, 2013, 09:48:00 PM »

These kits are to replace all of the through-hole caps on the xbox motherboard.  Where possible, I used Panasonic brand caps.
If you don't know if you need this, you probably don't.  I'll try to build a set for every revision.
I've also tried to build them with slimming of the xbox in mind, so where possible, they are shorter than stock and have long leads so they can be laid on their sides.  They also have the lead spacing to just drop in.

These parts lists come with no guarantees. If you mess up your xbox, or these kits don't work right for you, I'm sorry, but it's your problem.

Again, use at your own risk.

Revision 1.0
Revision 1.1
Revision 1.2
Revision 1.3
Revision 1.4
Revision 1.5
Revision 1.6a
Revision 1.6b

If a list comes up with just one cap or blank, it's because I haven't gotten a chance to build it yet.

If you see anything glaringly wrong, let me know and I'll look into fixing it.

Ok, so some updates and some clarifications.

I've now added rev 1.1, 1.6a, and 1.6b to the lists.
I don't have a 1.5 laying about to get the info from, and I don't see myself getting one anytime soon, so sadly that will have to stay blank for now.

As clarifications for anyone scared of those links: These are links to mouser.com shopping lists, I get no profits from you using them, I'm just built them as something potentially useful to myself and others

If you're still nervous, or want to pick the parts for yourselves, I'm putting written parts lists here:
qty Voltage uF Diameter Lead-Spacing
V 1.0
1 2.5 1F 8 3.5
2 10 3300 13 5
3 16 1500 12 5
5 6.3 1500 10 5
1 10 680 8 3.5
6 25 100 6 3
13 25 22 5 2.5
V 1.1
1 2.5 1F 8 3.5
1 10 3300 12 5
3 16 1500 12.5 5
5 6.3 1500 10 5
1 10 680 8 4
6 25 100 6 2.5
11 25 22 5 2.5
2 50 22 5 2.5
V 1.2 - 1.4
1 2.5 1F 8 5
2 10 3300 13 5
3 6.3 3300 10 5
3 6.3 1500 10 5
1 16 680 8 3.5
7 25 100 6 2.5
13 22 25 5 2.5
V 1.5
If I had to guess, I'd say it's the same as 1.2-1.4 boards
V 1.6a and 1.6b
1 2.5 1F 8 5
3 6.3 1500 10 5
5 6.3 3300 10 5
11 25 22 5 2.5
3 25 100 6 2.5

You may have noticed that on the supercaps, lead spacing alternates between 3.5 and 5 mm spacing.  From what I can tell, the boards have solder points for either spacing, so I've just used the same part for all of them in my lists.
