I'm going though a few xboxes, modding them for gifts, and have come across one with a dead ICS.  Perplexer, I've sent you a PM.  Thanks in advance for keeping it going!

Cheers!

Is there anything else that can cause network malfunction. I have a motherboard that I have put two chips in and network will still not work. Even put one of the chips in another motherboard to check it and all is good. The VSS voltage shows 3.28. Is there anything else I can check(besides solder bridges and broken traces, all this checks out).

Thanx Buzz

with xbmc loaded, looking at the system information screen, network, i noticed that the Link fluctuates between 100mbps full duplex and no link.

the switch and router and cabling it is hooked up to seem to be working fine when tested using a pc and iperf.

is this possibly a NIC slowing going bad? has anyone heard of this being some other type of issue?

Note: the MAC reported on the network information page stays constant.

thanks for any help.

Perplexer,

Are you still repairing? What is the going rate for an xbox from the states, to you?

Anyone know of a way to test this Ethernet PHY chip with a multimeter so we can narrow down if it is in fact the PHY that is bad? Anyone?
