How is your Xbox modded - softmod or chip?

What did you to to make the Xbox have error 16?

Has mod chip

I do not know what exactly.

What did Ι do to have error 16?
Well...

My child while playing with his cousin, pulled the controls and xbox fell.
When they put in place was not working, and showed error 16.
(It fell from a great height)

I know, the hard disk may be spoiled, but can display other errors.

Is the chip still working and loading the hacked BIOS, or are you now booting the original BIOS?

Have you checked that the chip is still attached to the motherboard, and that the D0 wire is still attached to the motherboard and the chip?

All are in place.

As for the boot, begins normally by showing the logo of xbox and then displays the error.

"Boots normally"....

Do you mean that it boots like an unmodded Xbox, or it boots like it did before it was dropped? Most modded BIOSes look different when they boot - different colours, a logo, different text.

Can you boot with HeXEn or Frosty's Rescue Disc?

Is the disk locked?

Which chip do you have?

I do not know.
When I bought the xbox I tried it. After the chip I tried it again.
It was the same in both boot times, and the logo.
After I installed evox. I do not remember which version.

I do not know what is HeXEn or Frosty's Rescue Disc.
But I tried to test this:

without result.

I do not remember if the hard disk is locked or unlocked and in this situation I can not check out because I do not have access.

What does your chip look like? Does it have a switch on it, can you post a picture?

If it has a switch, what happens if you switch it?

I was one of the first since the xbox came out and created the first (or second) chip.

I do not know how it looks this chip, so I can not know if it has a switch or not.

I will try to make a photo.

Hold on. In an earlier reply you said you had checked the chip and the D0 wire, and
QUOTE
All are in place
Now you are saying that you don't know what the chip looks like.

Those two statements can't be simultaneously true....

Yes, with one look that I threw everything was in place, but that does not mean that I have knowledge and I know from chip. So I can not recognize the mod chip they put me.

Can you help me or not ?

I'm not expecting you to have knowledge of the chip, I'm expecting you to either a. remember if it had a switch on the PCB, or b. open the Xbox again and have a look, and either provide a photograph or describe what it looks like.

I meant photos of the chip and the immediate area around it, not repeated photographs of the whole Xbox.....

There is no evidence of a switch, so that option is out of the question.

Have you got hold of Frosty's or HeXEn yet, and burned them to DVD-R, and tried to boot with them?

Have you built an xboxhdm CD to rebuild the hard drive (like the one in the Youtube video you linked to)?

Also, do you have a spare IDE hard drive?

My friend, I told you that I do not know what is Frosty's or HeXEn and what they are doing and I can not find them.
Explain to me.

I downloaded the recovery disc and tried as I said and as shown in the video but with no result.
I can not proceed. While recognizing the hard disk when I press the first option, I get an error message, like there's no hard drive.

Third, I do not have extra hard drive.
I can buy one, but the size is large, around 160gb
