Western Digital Wd80eb Xbox 1.6

I have tried many methods at unlocking this drive with hotswap softmod...including playing and pausing audio before swap as recommended for 1.6...when running the linux CD im not sure if it picks up the HDD at all but it wont find it in xbrowser or xboxhd. Im guessing because the drive is still locked? My xbox is dated 2004-11-04 v1.6? I checked for about a week straight and cant find any help so i decided to post a new topic. im not sure if my HD isnt unlockable? no matter what method and amount of attempts! Please someone help?
